Snowed In 14/31 #sol17

When we woke up this morning, the snow had already begun to fall.  The ground had a snowy blanket covering it.  With the prediction of many, many inches, lots of wind and blizzard conditions, that meant it was going to be a snow day!

No going to work.  No going to daycare.  Lots of endless opportunities for activities.

With a mug of hot tea in my hand and her sippy cup of milk clenched in her little hand, we entered the play area, excited about a morning of play.

Completed the dinosaur floor puzzle.
Dumped toy dinosaurs out onto floor puzzle and served them tea.
Cleared toy dinosaurs off, took puzzle apart and then redid the puzzle.
Colored in sketchbook.
Wrapped baby doll in blankies and rocked the baby.
Read three books.
Played catch with a colorful ball.
Cleaned up toy dinosaurs.
Pretended to make mac and cheese and feed mama.
Helped stuffed animals feel better using a Doc McStuffins vet kit.
Read same books again.
Looked out the window at all of the snow.
Pretended to give baby doll a bath.
Colored a Tinkerbell coloring page.

What?! It's only been 37 minutes since we woke up?!

It's going to be a long snow day!

  1. Oh yes. I know those days. My kids are 9, 8, and 6 now, but I remember "snowmaggeden" in...2009?...when my two oldest were too young for preschool and had to be watched and entertained and fed and played with constantly. Add two big dogs who had to go out to the two kids who were really too young to go out in the many feet of snow and...you end up with one mom who barely made it to Spring. Good luck, and know that it's normal to want to run away--and then a few minutes later, believe you'd not want to be anywhere else. :)

  2. So fun to see all that can happen in 37 minutes. I hope you survived your day. Probably another snow day tomorrow?

  3. I so remember these days. Sigh. I am sure you have lots of slicing fodder now.

  4. Snow days are the best. I love living in Virginia. Today is snow day #2 for me! Woo Hoo!

  5. Oh when time appears to be going fast and yet it is crawling along. I have been there! Still it is lovely for a day unplanned! Enjoy those little moments.
